Current COVID-19 Information

Last updated 16 May 2022

The safety and wellbeing of our patients, staff and doctors is always our highest priority.

Please find a summary of our current COVID-19 safety measures, including patient admission requirements and our latest visiting guidelines.

It is important to note that these guidelines are subject to change at short notice, in line with local conditions and advice available at the time.

Admitting patients

Patient vaccination status

Our preference is for all patients to be vaccinated, however at this stage our sites will continue to provide a service to all patients regardless of their vaccination status.

COVID-19 testing

All patients (regardless of their vaccination status and reason for admission) will be risk assessed to determine the need for COVID-19 testing.

COVID-19 screening questions will be asked during the pre-admission call and on the day of admission. Consideration will be made where any COVID-19 risk factors are identified, which may lead to COVID-19 testing.

Where a COVID-19 result is positive, a discussion with your treating Doctor will occur to determine next steps.

Patients who have recovered from COVID-19

If you have recently recovered from COVID-19 and are due for admission, please notify your treating Doctor as soon as possible. Your treating Doctor may recommend that your admission is rescheduled.

Patients who are close contacts

A patient who is a close contact or classroom contact is unable to attend a hospital (high risk location) for 14 days from date of exposure.

Personal Protective Equipment

Staff and doctors will wear PPE at all times whilst in the hospital. Patients are required to wear a supplied mask whilst outside of their rooms and in communal areas.
